Grant Cardone is certainly one of the most successful entrepreneurs in the U.S and for good reason: he is the best at what he does. For that matter, when he talks about how to build a successful business, if you’re smart enough, you should listen.
In one recent live event, he decided to share his key 6 steps to succeeding in business.
Always Start With The WHO
He’s not talking about the basic “who is your target?”. Besides the fact that it’s crucial for any business to have a thorough insight about its industry and customers, Grant Cardone goes a little bit deeper by dismissing these basic caracteristics. No. Mr. 10X puts the emphasis on “Who knows you?“.
How rich is your network? because Network = Net Worth – Grant Cardone
Most people have it backwards. And I’ve been a victim of that same mindset too.
They think that they have to focus on creating a product first, and then, somehow, people will buy. Quit that entitlement, get out there, and talk to people. See, this is one of the challenges I’ll have to take head on.
It’s the Hollywood movies mantra to say that you’ve made it alone talking about the lone wolf etc. but it’s all a scam. Nobody can make it alone. You need to surround yourself with successful people or find a way to get mentors. That way, you’ll grow consistently and, ultimately, become successful.
Have A Specific Number In Mind
You need to be specific about your milestones. There is no sustainable success without clarity. In a sense, this advice is linked to Alex Hormozi’s on becoming a millionaire.
The mind doesn’t strive best when things aren’t clear and specific.
That is why if you want to build successful marketing campaigns, email lists, anything that can be measurable, you need to know:
- How much do you want to make? What is the measurable goal?
- How many people do you need to talk to in order to get to that number? Do you need to do phone calls or emails?
The clearer the numbers, the more likely you will be to attain your goal.
Market Your Products
“CEO stands for Chief Executive Omnipresence” – Grant Cardone.
Having a network and a specific number won’t mean anything if you don’t get out and sell.
The reason why marketers like Russell Brunson or Gary Vaynerchuk, CEOs like Grant Cardone or Elon Musk are dominating their fiel: They’re not afraid to put themselves in front of people and talk about their products. It’s the reverse.
They’re always out there making contents, creating videos, creating ads, making podcasts, getting on events, and they’re always striving to find ways that will help them get in front of more people.
You need to show up and sell your products. The main point is to always show up and put yourself in front of people.
Write To Your Specific Target
Nobody likes to be sold. Yet, you need to sell your products for your business to be viable. The easiest way to do it is by creating content.
Content creation is about nurturing your audience. There are a lot of ways you can use to put your content out there. You can use emails, videos, create courses or audios… It’s all about sharing your message to the world
RIght now, personal branding is trending and a lot more people are understanding the necessity to put themselves out there and share their unique message with the world.
It will help you build trust around your brand and make the selling part easier.
Convert
Convert your targets into recurring customers and start building a steady cashflow.
More and more businesses are understanding the importance of having a recurring income. Think SAAS and services. You need to find a way to make your business shift its business model from one-time payments to recurring payments.
There are different ways you can turn your business into a monthly recurring revenue business:
- Build different services with different prices within the same business
- Or lower your prices for the same activity
Either way, whether you want to change your business model or not, you need to build enough trust to make your customers want to buy from you again.
Scale
Build a team around your values, let them do the grunt work, and focus on marketing and showing up every day to talk about your products and businesses.
One of the most important aspect of a great business idea is its ability to scale while decreasing the upfront money. If you can mix both, you increase your chances of building a successful business.
What’s up next?
Grant Cardone is a great marketer. He knows how to put himself out there and he is very successful. Now, my mantra is to always follow what the successful are doing and try to mindfully emulate them.
You don’t want to be a robot. You always need to assess yourself and what you’re learning. But if you want to become a millionaire, the surest route is to mirror and these 6 steps are a great start.
